I have a 4MB connection and Internet Explorer is really really slow on opening / closing pages.

Has anyone any idea why this maybe?

Have you checked for spyware/adware? Also do you have any p2p clients running? How bout trojan/virus scans? Have you attempted a winsock fix?

I am running Sophos Anti Virus and the software is fully up-to-date and no virus was detected.

I have Microsoft Anti Spy Ware running and this has also not detected any spyware/adware. have not got any p2p clients running.

Please tell me more about the winsock fix?

Thanks for your help so far.

winsock deals with your connections, it sometimes is corrupted from spyware/malware/trojans etc.. . So I would download it from the faq i have listed and give it a try and see if that fixes your problem. If not let us know.
