An internet startpage seems to has locked itself inside
my Explorer. It won't go, even if I change or delete all its entries in the registry. After rebooting its keeps
popping up when I start IE.
System.ini and Win.ini show no traces of it (manual deletion and re-installation of IE6.0 didn't work either),
where to look next?.

To change your home page

Your home page is the page that appears every time you open Internet Explorer. Make sure it is a page that you want to view frequently. Or make it one that you can customize to get quick access to all the information you want, such as the msn.com home page.

Go to the page you want to appear when you first start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Under Home page, click Use Current.
Note

To restore your original home page, click Use Default.

Hope this helps! ggebhart@clover.net

El NinJorn,

Not sure what you are saying. If you are saying your internet start page has been hijacked (changed to a page you did not set) and you can not set it back, this is a result of some underhanded internet marketing strategies. Not very ethical but very common these days. There are a lot of them and the correction dpends on the specific hijacking. Here is a resources that may help you locate and correct the condition.

Hope that helps.

You have got a pirate program, running at startup, which changes the home page. If you can run MSCONFIG, use it.
Otherwise, download Startup Control Panel or a similar tool to get full control of the startup process.

PAndersen has the best suggestion. There is a script that has added a registry command which is executing each time you restart the machine. If you are on Win9x you can use MSCONFIG to look at the startup tab and see if there is a regedit command listed in there.
