Hello. I have been scanning this forum for a few days now in the hopes that others have run across the same problem that seems to be plaguing me. I have seen a few others with a similar problem, but, to my knowledge, no one has posted a fix.

Here are my symptoms:

IE seems to hang after entering information in browser boxes and after hitting submit buttons. For example, when filling out a registration form with blanks for first name, last name, address, etc., IE will freeze up for a good 5-10 seconds after I click on the next blank or hit tab. In addition, Outlook loads up in an extremely lethargic fashion. Oftentimes I think my computer has froze up, but in reality, two minutes later, Outlook will open...

Information:

I am running Windows 98 SE. I believe the problem started a week or so ago - which was *before* I installed 6.0 (which I just installed a few days ago to try and correct the aforementioned problem). About two days ago (several days after the problem started) I found a virus on my computer. There were 300 copies of W32.FunLov.4099. One of the other posters mentioned he had a virus at some point too - perhaps there is a link, perhaps not; nonetheless, I thought it worth mentioning. I have tried completely reinstalling Win98 SE. I tried to do many of the things suggested in the post TheOldMan suggested, but to no avail. I am at a loss for what other information to provide, so please, if you need more, tell me and I will quickly put it up.

The first time this problem happened I thought my computer had been running too long in the day or something and just needed a restart. But as it seems the problem is not just going to correct itself, I am open to trying most anything within my power (short of reformatting, heh).

Thanks so much for any help.
