internet explorer shows huge large fonts

IE 6.0.2800.....

Internet explorer started showing huge fonts from last week

I tried

1) reinstalling windows ( not a fresh/from scratch installation )
2) repairing internet explorer

nothing seems to rectify the problem

any help will be greatly appreciated.

It may be an idea to try : Tools > Options > General > Accessibility > Formatting and Ignore font sizes ....
