Internet Explorer Script Error : Help Requested !!!

I downloaded 5.5.It works fine but whenever I try to open up a folder on my desktop...for example My documents folder, My computers folder, and other folders I have created which contains shortcuts to applications, it gives me &quot;internet explorer script error.Object : not found, Line : 1, character : 1.<br>This occurs even while I try to open up windows explorer or settings-control panel.I tried to uninstall internet explorer 5.5 and reinstalled it but the problem was persistent.I seem to have lost a bit and was unable to solve this problem.All the other applications are working file.And after this error message comes up,I have to say yes or no four times.Then the folders come up.<br>I tried to search on the web but no success at all and I have written to many areas but have not yet to receive a solution. Do you have Web Page View enabled.?<br><br>Sounds to me like you may be missing the hidden desktop.ini file in My Documents. or have corrupt .htt files in c:\windows\web<br><br>Go to Start&gt;Run, type winfile, under View&gt;By File Type... make sure Show Hidden/System files is checked, then navigate to c:\mydocu~1<br><br>If you're missing desktop.ini in c:\my documents, copy and paste the following into Notepad and name it desktop.ini:<br><br>[.ShellClassInfo]<br>CLSID2={450d8fba-ad25-11d0-98a8-0800361b1103}<br>InfoTip=Stores your documents, graphics, and other files.<br><br>Save it to the desktop, then go to Start&gt;Programs&gt;MS-DOS Prompt, and type attrib +h c:\windows\desktop\desktop.ini<br>and move it to c:\mydocu~1 by using File Manager.<br><br>reghakr

Internet Explorer Script error is caused the Windows is configured to use the 16-color palette.


The Resolution for these kind of errors is mentioned below :

To resolve this issue, change the Color Palette setting to 256 Color or a higher setting. To change the Color Palette setting, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Display.

2.Click the Settings tab.

3.In the Color Palette box, click 256 Color or a higher setting.

4.Click OK.

5.Restart your computer when you are prompted.
