Something weird has been happening with our Internet connectivity. I have an address setup for my home page, and when I start IE5, the address reads in the "Address" box, but something different is on the screen--it is either a different page, or part of the home page or a jpg file that was an attachment from an earlier email. If I hit refresh it clears it and brings me to my home page.

I had a shortcut to Mail2web.com also and it is not working now either--the address is in the box, but screen is blank and it says Done on the bottom left corner of screen (done downloading.)

I tried changing my home page to something else (which worked) and then changed it back to what I want it to be, but that didn't work either. The homepage I'm trying to get is AOL.com.

I disconnected our dial-up and re-connected it, but that didn't work.

I also deleted the temporary Internet files, but it didn't help--this is also happening on at least one other system on our LAN.

It's just plain flaky.....any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi,

Ideas? Yes.. Virus, Javascript or Cookies.

A quick look at the AOL site revealed that after the initial location ( it redirects the user to another page, I looked a bit deeper and it uses Javascript for that, it also places a cookie, with several variables, so my advice at this stage is for you to check if the browsers you are using have Javascript/Cookies enabled.

Other then that, a virus also crossed my mind.

Hope this can solve your problem.
