Internet Explorer No Longer Opens –At All 1

When I dbl click on either desktop shortcut or primary executable. Hourglass shows for a couple seconds, then nothing.

XP Home with current updates clean current PC-cillin scan and clean current ADware scan. Internet connection is fine.

I tried rebooting and eliminating processes one at a time. Right clicking on primary executable opens IE6 but history, favorites and the Yahoo toolbar doesn’t show (Google toolbar works fine)

I’m suspicious of the Yahoo toolbar. Uninstalling has not helped. Reinstalling is not an option because downloading won’t work.

You have malware.

Start with the steps outlined in faq608-4650, especially the online AV scans if you can access IE.

You might consider giving my "Trialware antitrojan of the month" a free trial wack at the problem:

This is likely a BlazeFind/Search Assistant/ malware issue, and can be tough to remove manually.
