Internet Explorer new window problems...

I just recently updated to IE 6 from 5.5 as I thought it might be an alright upgrade. So I took the time and upgraded. But now none of the new windows that open (ie I click a link, a new window opens) goes to the link. I have to hit the stop button and then refresh. The title doesn't even load, I juse get "Microsoft Internet Explorer" as the title. Anyone have any ideas on this problem?

Just in case, though I don't think it'd matter, here's my system specs:
CPU: 1.2GHz AMD Athlon
MOBO: MSI K7t266 Pro
RAM: 256MB Kingston RAM
GFX: MSI GeForce 2 GTS 32MB
OS: Windows 2000 Pro
