I'm running IE 5.0 on a Windows 98 machine. IE lauches automatically at startup, even though it is not in Start Menu-->Programs-->Startup. In the Advanced tab of Internet Options, "Automatically check for Internet Explorer updates," is unchecked. Please advise. Thank you!

Have you checked the following registry key:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

This key lists the different software that automatically load upon startup. See if IE has been put in here by accident.

Hopefully this helps.
