Dear All

I have installed Windows 2000 pro on a desktop, installed a netgear network card, and configured all the IP Paramenters for connectivity to the ADSL connection.

When I start IE, the window opens, but displays a blank screen, on the bottom left it says web site found, opening page and on the right hand bottom, the blue bar just stays at half way level....this just happens to sit there all day, no matter what site I try to visit.

I have done a ping to the site, and get no problems, and I have also done NSlookups, with no problem.

Any ideas?

I am having a similar problem (XP SP1, IE6). It is inconsistent but IE is often hanging on requests. It seems to always happen while receiving the response. I will either get part of a web page/download and then the network traffic will come to a halt. Usually reloading the page or restarting the download corrects the problem. I do not feel it's my internet connection and I know it's not a DNS problem (it is after making the request).

Have you tried Windows Update site for the cumulative patch kits for IE 6? Pick one from April 2003 up to and not including the recent August 2003 cumulative update packages.
