My internet explorer is giving me a headache. It waits so long after I click to open! It does fine once the first page has been loaded(takes forever). And if I click a link that opens new window, get a popup, or try to open link in a new window....it does it again!!! SSSsllllooooow help

DSL modem, Windows ME, 256 RAM...

If you have access to a disk reinstall it over the current install...shouldn't mess with the settings...should just over-write the files there and hopefully correct them.
If you don't have access to a disk, maybe your ISP (mine did) will offer a CD with it on it.

This used to happen to me (on Windows NT though) and I just defragged the computer. After this, everything popped up as normal.

This might not be the problem in your case but its still worth a try.

Have you checked on how much temporary file space you have available? It could be that you need to run a Disk Cleanup to remove Temporary Internet Files. Or if you are keeping too many tasks active, there might be a shortage of hard drive free space for swap files. Check the hard drive LED for lots of activity. Also do you have an email virus checker that might be slowing things down?
