I have experienced this problem recently... When ever I click on any link which comes via mail or click on any JPG file in my local hard disk, IE opens automatically, but it is blank. Nothing will be displayed untill and unless we manually copy and paste the link in IE address bar.

What colud be the reason? Any help appreciated.

Sounds like an incomplete command line for certain file associations or DDE is not being used"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome. (Since you did not mention which OS is being used these steps may be slightly different for you)

For instance on your link issue, open windows explorer and go TOOLS - FOLDER OPTIONS and select the tab FILE TYPE.

Look for the file type URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol. Select Advanced.
Select OPEN and click on EDIT

Check the command line that it is running as it sounds as if it is incomplete. It should read:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

then if DDE is checked the field DDE Message should read:
"%1",,-1,0,,,,

Application should read:
IExplorer

and Topic should read:
WWW_OpenURL

Now if you are not using DDE then the command line will probably read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome "%1"

Hope this helps.
