I have a system that has a problem visiting 1 specific site/domain I can browse to any other site and all works well but I am unable to visit any HP.com site :-(
I have tried to use the IP address 192.6.234.10 but still no go so it dose not appear to be a DNS issue. This is Windows 98 and IE 6 SP 1

Thanks for your help

Is it hp.com listed in the hosts file on that machine? If so, delete it.

Good thought but hp.com is not listed in the hosts file in fact the hosts file is empty.

Thanks

Jack

Can you sign onto the Pc with a different profile? If yes log on as someone else and try it.

Can you PING the IP address?

If this is in a LAN setting can others reach the site?

Thanks for the feed back.

This is a stand alone PC one profile only I can of course create a new profile for testing (computer is at a remote site so it will be a day or so before I can test this. Will let you know.

HP.com will not respond to a ping even on computers that can visit there site.

No Lan DSL Modem and PPOE

Thanks I will try a different profile and see if that works

Jack
