Hi there to all
For those familiar with Internet Explorer ...
you know the AutoComplete function that IE has to help
fill in forms, username prompt boxes, email "To:" field boxes,URL input boxes etc etc

If you have the AutoComplete function set to ON, every time you type something in one of those boxes it saves it in a file so that when you go back later, it gives you a drop-down menu of what you have typed in the past so you can select one of them if you wish !

This file is local for every computer and is encrypted.

Does anyone know one of more of the following:
a) where (which directory) is that file stored on the PC (Windows NT 4.0 and Internet Explorer 5.5)
b) if it is encrypted will I be able to see it on the directory listings and if NO why ??
c) if YES (question b) then I guess I will not be able to see its contents.
d) If I can see its contents and it is encrypted garbage, how can I unencrupt it ??

At least I need to know which registry file I should be looking at to find the AutoComplete stored info.

I looked at a Sept. 29 thread and I navigated to
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW (as quoted in that Sept. thread)
with the registry editor (I did not edit anything)
but in my system I do not have the IntelliForms\SPW
subdirectories (Windows NT 4.0)

Thanks

What exactly do you want to accomplish? If you just want to remove some of the data that shows when you start typing you can just select it from the pop up box and hit your delete button. joegz

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah I knew that but I just wanted to know more about where in the registry these info is stored.

Thanks
