I just had to reinstall my IE browser after a "reg-edit" run. Looks like something sensitive was removed and now....those pesky MicroSoft ads are popping up all over.
I have disabled "Messenger" through the services section of the administrator file.
Any suggestion as to how to get rid of this...turn it off...or otherwise stop the SPAM?
I use spybot and it works real well...perhaps too well!
Looking for some suggestions. Thanx! BC

Not sure exactly what you mean by adverts from Microsoft in IE browser, unless you have a branded version.

You could try this:

Go to START-RUN-copy and paste the line underneath and hit enter.

rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear

Thanks Phil,

My Reg-edit program actually removed a filter which opened a floodgate of SPAM.
I tried your suggestion....it worked. Ran Reg-edit again.....had to copy and paste again.
I contacted the software designer for the registry cleaning agent and advised them of the filtering removal.
They were one step ahead and offered me a BETA of their new file.
Thanx again. Cheers, BC
