Hi everyone
A friend of mine asked my to come over to his house and help him upgrade his computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Premium.
I have run into a couple of problems and one of them has to do with Favorites for Internet Explorer.
Before installing W7 I backed up everything including all his favorites.
After the computer was up and running in W7 I moved the Favorites folder out or the Users/UserID folder and copied his old explorer folder in place of the default one to Users/UserID/Favorites.
When I opened IE8 only the original Favorites (the ones I had removed) showed. Not the ones in the new folder.
To try and find out where it was getting them I created a new one for "BMWUSA.com" It did not appear in the Users/UserID/favorites folder but there is a working favorite link in IE8.
I ran a search of the C:\ drive for BMWUSA and didn't find anything. It still shows the defualt links, including the BMW one that I created in IE.
So... Where is it storing Favorites, and how do I get his old Favorites to show up in IE8?
Mike
