I've run in to two issues with IE7 that I cannot correct.
1. When I click on a file, I no longer get the dialog that asks to open or save.....it tries to open it in the background to a temp folder.
2. When I click a video link, I'd like it to open in WMP11, instead it tries to open in a new tab, and errors out.
I've tried the downloads item in the security settings, and I've tried resetting file type program defaults.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

For the first item, it's dependant upon file type. Assuming you're using XP for the type (extension) of file that you want to be prompted when downloading, open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types tab. Scroll down & select the appropriate file extension, then click the Advanced button. Select the 'Confirm open after download' checkbox.

As for the second item, what happens when you use some of the options from the right-click context menu for this video file?
