I have IE7 and I am noticing that the icons I use for the links shortcuts never stay put! They seem to randomly go back to the Internet Explorer "e" logo.No matter how many times I change some of them, they dont take. What could cause this?
Thanks
John

IE7 uses the favicon by default. If the website has no favicon, the default IE icon is used instead. This is a common complaint that I hope will be resolved someday.

What I really meant is after I change the favicon to one of my preferences, then shut down IE, the favicon comes back to replace the icon which I had. Any known problems regarding this?

If you change it manually, it will not stay. IE uses the website's favicon, not the one that you manually pick.

Here is what I do. I goto a favorite on my links bar. I right click and choose properties. I choose the change icon option to the red asterisk icon.Once I click apply and ok, it stays for a session, but then changes back the the blue IE icon. This doesnt happen for all my favorites, only a few. Would recreating the link help?

As I've mentioned, you can customize them all you'd like, but they won't stay. MS is aware of this behavior and hopefully will fix it someday.
