Internet Explorer 6 crashes when it opens in new window

Hi,

My Internet Explorer version 6 crashes when it trys to open in a new window. This happens when i try to log into my e-mail account at Totalise. When i log in, explorer opens a new window but then crashes.

Any ideas ??

Crashes, as in you get an error message? Or crashes in that you have to reboot the machine?

. I would prefere you reinstall IE 6 sp1

. But try first:

Open a new notepad session, to be called IE_fix.cmd, and copy/paste the below:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll

Save the file, then double click IE_fix.cmd and answer the prompts. Ignore any error messages.

Reboot and test again.

I get an error message on exlporer and then it closes.

I have tried your suggestion, and reinstalled SP1 but its still the same.

What exactly is the error message?

Thanks for that link. It turned out to be caused by 'GAIN' which was installed on my PC. I added a Div X Codec, and it also installed the 'GAIN' crap.
