Just incase there might be another post of the same problem elsewhere, unless I word the search exactly as a post was submitted, there's no way of finding it, anyway, here's the problem I'm having.

some pages that contain small images are not displayed propery by internet explorer, the images get displayed as a small (or large) box with a small x in the top left corner, I have emptied my temp files, updated java, and shockwave, I have every update that MS has on it's website, I've even reset the internet explorer settings to default, but nothing, all this started when I installed the MS updates, everything was fine until then.

Just incase anybody asks, I'm using winxp pro.

I would like to get it fixed, as I run a webserver, a file server, and an email server, plus an internet radio station, I don't want to have to reformat again (The last time I had to reformat was because of a destructive worm that destroyed most of the webserver file :-( ), it took over a month the re-setup all the servers.

If it can't be fixed, I may have to reformat :-( and install windows as is, straight from the box, with no updates.

You can probably find your answer in one of these:

IE6 not displaying graphics on certain pages only thread608-602478
iexplorer 6.0 displays no gifs thread608-199497

I found the problem, it was the quicktime active-x plugin, it wasn't installed.

thanks
