Internet Explorer 5.00 remembers search queries??

hi

my internet explorer (version 5) remembers all queries that i type into search engines, and when i start typing into the text box a list comes up with previous ones i have typed. this also happens when you log into a site, say hotmail. how do i turn this function off?
