I am using 2000 server. When I ping our internet site, which is hosted by an ISP, from a seat in the network, it doesn't resolve the name. It returns the IP of the DNS server on the LAN.

Do I have to enter a host record for the IP addy of your server on their network??

How do I do that, if so?

Thanks so much!

yes, its that..
open the DNS console, and click to expand until you see the forward lookup zone that is the name of your domain (and the domain part of the URL of your webserver)

Right click on your zone, and select the option 'add new host record'...
then type the FQDN of your web server, and put the IP of the ISP's machine that hosts your sites...
normally, that should work.

Aftertaf
if its not broken, fix it anyway - with luck you might break it and have an excuse
