I have a Windows 2003 Server network with 9 clients.

I am running DNS with static IP addresses. I have been connecting to the internet with a Webramp 310i and two telephone lines.

Now I am having a problem with the webramp keeping it's connection to the internet. It will connect for between 1 and 2 minutes, then disconnect. I can't guarantee that the lines are clean, but I can dial out of the server and stay connected forever. I have taken the webramp and connected it directly to a PC on the network and it also will stay connected forever. As soon as I connect it to our network hub, a Dell Powerconnect 2016, it disconnects soon after.

I have also connected an XP computer with a modem installed and internet connection sharing enable to the network and got the same results. Any ideas out there?

Must be some kind of time out with this device. As a test, you can try a ping to (for example), to see if activity will keep this line open.

Have the device installed on the hub. From a client machine go to a command prompt and type:

ping -t

Then let this ping continue...see if the connection drops. If it does not drop, you probably have some kind of time out on in the device. Meaning that if there is no activity, the line drops.

This sounds more like a device problem then a Windows problem.
