internet connection

I have the DSL from comcast and is using a router to connect to internet.The connection with the window OS working fine.But when I try to set through smitty for aix , it says
the command OK, but the IP address is not assigned to the
network care.

you can't use a dynamic ip with stock aix. you'll need to go into the tcp configuration and assign the ip you want to use to the ethernet card you want to use it on.

if you want dynamic, you'll have to enable a dchp server and have it assign the ip to your server before you try to connect to the net.
