I have 2 win98 se computers, one with modem and connection sharing.
If I initiate an Internet connection from the host pc, after the specified idle time, I am prompted to disconnect.
If I initiate an Internet connection from the client pc, the connection does not terminate.
How can I configure this set-up so that no matter which pc initiates the connection, it will terminate after the specified idle time?

If you have the idle time set on the host PC that should disconnect even when the internet is connected from the client. It doesnt matter what the client is set to because it isnt the one that is physically dialing up to the internet. I have a very similar set-up to this in my house and a few of the clients I work with. I set the Idel time to 5 minutes on the host PC if it is sharing the line with a needed phone line. So far I havent had any problems.

My connection does not hang up after specified idle time if the client initiates dial up.
Another strange thing:
If the dial up networking save password box is not ticked on the host, when I initiate from the host I am asked for the password. THis is OK.
However, if the client initiates, the connection is dialled without prompting for a password. THis seems to me that the dial up networking settings, specifically save password, are bypassed, and perhaps also the hangup idle time.
I have located a freeware remote disconnection utility which solves my problem.
I don't understand how your setup works fine and mine does not.
