I finally got my network set up and running. I couldn't get my wireless router to work with my ISP, so I set up Internet Connection Sharing on an old PC with two network cards, and, after a lot of messing around, got it to work ( I know next to nothing about networking).
I changed the router over to "Bridge" mode (essentially turning it into an access point), and (finally) got a laptop connected, including internet access. Now, all my computers are connected, either by wireless or ethernet cable, to the same network.
Now, I'm getting a new desktop. My question is, should I set up the new computer with ICS, and take it off the old PII - 266 that's running it now, or should I just add the new computer to the network?
Also, do I need a firewall installed on all the machines, or just the one with ICS enabled, since everything runs through that?
