I know this is not a server question but I hope that someone can help. At home, I have windows 2000 professional. I also started to play around with Linux. I have a Linux machine and my Windows machine networked together. I want the windows machine to pass the internet through to the linux machine like it would if I were using intenet connection sharing. However, I dont want to use ICS because it is not very user-configurable.

Is there a way that I can get the internet on the linux machine through the windows machine so that they are both online at the same time with out using ICS (I use dialup)?

I was thinking something like using the "route" command...am I on the right track at least? Yes, I know that I can easily have the linux machine connected to the internet and then have the windows machine go through the linux machine to get the internet, but the windows box is my primary computer and the linux machine is just something to play around with (and i dont know much about it yet).
I hope you can understand what I am trying to ask in this post.

Thank you!

ICS would probably be your best bet. I don't believe you can enable RRAS thru command prompt. And RRAS is more difficult to configure than ICS. All you need to do is right-click your dial-up connection-> properties-> sharing tab and enable ICS. Done. Nothing to it. Now the Linux side may be a little tougher, I don't know much about Linux either. I have just started playing with it myself... Matt Wray
