Internet Connection Problems - Using Win 2K

I am having problems with internet connection. When I try to get connected it gives me a message saying, "Unable to Establish Network Configuration." My modem is fine, since I can fax documents using Win Fax. I am also running Win 98 on the same computer and can easily connect to the net. This problem has developed suddenly. I could connect to the internet before without any problems. Thanks in advance for any help or hints.

Use autodetect settings unless your ISP has given you the proper addresses.There are usually three places to check. the first is connections/settings there is a check box there. Then in properties networking TCP/IP properties there are two,obtain IP address automatically and obtain DNS server address automatically.

I tried your suggestions. All of my settings were set just as you suggested. Still no luck. I am gonna try and re-install the system.
