Internet connect and browser help

ok i have had this problem for maybe a few years now.It is of course not extremly serious I owned microsoft's IE i started downloading a few other browsers netscape,neoplanet,and opera.Now a few months after i had Opera IE cut out give you the old connect prob. message and i went to try the other 2(neoplanet,netscape) they didn't work.Now i use opera which doesn't play most java.This complicates things.I have to check some sites which requiore these.Could you help me i need IE (or neoplanet,netscape)back up and running.
