Despite having a 500mhz 128mb ram PC using 128k ISDN internet access over BT HomeHighway....

It runs like a dog....any offers regarding

a. Is it the ISP

b. Can I do some PC house keeping

Etc etc

Thanks

Its probably the ISP, but realize that a 56k modem will offer 7k (at most)of actual download speed. The 56 is kilobits but the speed you see when you download something (in windows anyway) is in kiloBYTES. Since a kilobit is one-eighth of a kilobyte, just divide by eight to get your actual speed.
128/8=16KB per second; is this what you see when you download files?
I understand that with ISDN, physical quality of the phone line itself may be a factor.
I have 768k cable modem which is really nice for downloading large files, but I only get 33 or 56 upload speed, which means online games like Quake and TFC are choppy. You can check you download and upload speeds at alot of websites, just do a search on 'bandwidth speedtest'.
