i have an application which takes in multilingual data and then puts it into an oracle 8i db.it then retreives it back and shows onto another browser window. this works fine but when i generate oracle reports in .rtf format the file shows me junk data. in the shell script i have mentioned the nls_lang as american_america.utf8. but if i generate a html page as a report it works fine. ie for any other format other than .html , the report generated shows junk.why? are there some settings required in word 2000.
one more interesting thing is if i change word's settings by going to tools and then options and then i check the box
which says to ask for the type of encoding in which to open the file, and now i open the report it asks how to open the file if i select encoded type and then utf-8 it shows me the correct data but with lot of overhead data.why is this happening?
help !!!
