Forgive any lack of technical savvy in the post, but I felt that the experience might be good to share...
Over the past couple months we have had intermittent problems with dialing certain international numbers. These calls originated from the US using our Definity G3si Release 8.3. The calls seemed to route correctly, but our LD carrier's message would inform us that the number had been dialed incorrectly. Using a calling card from another LD carrier allowed a call to the same number go right through.
After working with our LD carrier, they determined that our two DS1 ISDN trunks were using the 3.1 kHz signal for the "DCP/Analog Bearer Capability" and the receiving equipment was having trouble with it. Per their suggestion we changed this setting from "3.1 kHz" to "speech" on both trunks and the problem was solved.
To view your DS1 settings use: "cha DS1 [card id]" and view the settings on page 1.
