I have a potential customer that has a release 4 magix with etr cards with partner phones.

The customer can dial out international calls on the 4400 series magix telephones, but CAN NOT on the partner 18D telephones??

Any ever scene this??

Thanks,

KILLBOX

What are the symptoms?
Have you examined the programming to see if they have restrictions on the Partner phones?

There is no restrictions on anything. No restrictions, no ars restrictions, no allow or disallow tables. Everything is fine.

I even gave the Partner phones dial out code, (70, 890) and they can't even do it bypassing ARS.

THanks,

KILLBOX

Look at account under exts. and see if they have forced account codes needed.

No account codes. There is no restrictions.

Thanks,

Alex

Hey Killbox I've been fighting with this same issue for about
a month now. The system I'm working with has a PRI which is the problem child here since I've tested this with the 2 analog lines they have and they work fine for international. The TDL sets can dial pretty much everywhere however the ETR sets can dial certain international numbers but not others (they can dial Mexico but not South Africa for example). Verizon (the PRI provider) says everything looks good on their
end and I'm still working with the long distance provider to see if they are receiving the correct digits. Avaya said that there is a difference in the way the calls are made...for the TDL everything is digital and the digits are sent right away, for the ETR sets the call is treated like an analog (3.1k). Anyway I'm just happy to see someone else is having trouble, mabye it's a problem with the release 4 (although Avaya will deny it until the bitter end). If I find a resolution I will post it.

I too had the same problem with a 1st release Magix. after fighting with Avaya they finally built a patch that fixed the problem. It was some time ago and i dont remember if it was applied to the processor or to the ETR boards but they did fix it after 2 weeks of argueing.

Good luck

WOW, I'm not alone! That at least makes me feel better.

Thanks to everyone. If anyone finds a fix, post it!!

Thanks,

On your PRI make sure that your trunks are programmed for 56/64K (both), and also check with your local/LD carriers and make sure they are provisioned for 56/64K (3.1khz/digital). If the switch and carrier are not provisioned correctly you will experience the very issue you are describing. Most International carriers use digital pipes, but some countries do not. A conversion is applied for analog calls across digital pipes. Print your PRI config. and see what it says. Depending on how the local carrier handsoff to your LD carrier it may only be a local issue.
