Hi,

We have a website that is hosted internally, it is accessible from the public internet using the FQDN, however internally it is not accessible, I keep getting HTTP 504s.

I can access it if I modify my hosts file to resolve to the local IP address of the server, however this is not our preferred route.

I have tested using Ping,TraceRoute and NSLookup from a variety of PC's on the internal network and all resolve the website to our static IP address.

This has been working for approximately 5 years but has all of a sudden stopped.

Has anyone any suggestions that I can use to diagnose this problem.

Thanks

Are you using a proxy in order to get to the site internally. Can you bypass the proxy to see if it works fine.

the fact that you were able to receive a 504 error means you were stil able to resolve the name of your website. 504s indicated network related/proxy issues. If not using a proxy, have you checked for localized network errors not related to the actual webserver
