Scenario is reception answers the phone call and transfers to an internal user, the transferred too party sees the external number / name on screen and answers as though its an outside call,
They want to change this so they see the reception extension/name appear on their screen for internal calls when transferring an external line. They still need to see the external line/name when answering an external call directly. Hope this makes sense?
All standard internal to internal calls display the internal user details correctly its only if they transfer the outside call that it then displays the outside line. Personally I think this is perfectly fine and cant see the issue, but the customer is adamant they want it changed.

We did try changing ring tones for internal calls and external calls but this seems to play the same tone - again it may be due to the external call being transferred so doesn't play an internal tone? (classic tones set on incoming HG and a different tone on the personalised ringing on the handset.

Instead of transferring the call park the call. By default you hit the park button once and you see the callerID before you hit the park button again (or connect). This would meet the requirement of knowing the callerID but also knowing it was parked by an inside source.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
