Hi

Can anyone here tell me how to force a tone from the internal speaker? We have some pcs without soundcards & I would like an audible alert for when I display a msgbox etc

Thanks

just use the 'beep' command.Place the following line when you want to sound an alert from the internal speaker:

beep

Beep executes ok but no sound from the speaker. If I plug my speakers back in it produces a msgbox style 'ping'.
?

There is some Beep parameters you might want to use as well...also, that beep will beep on the internal speaker if the machine doesn't have a sound card...the sound you hear on your machine is windows interpretation...it might help looking up those beep parameters in your help file and setting the tone of the beep, how long the beep is, and so forth...and I've always wondered...could you make a driver for the internal speaker that could interpret a sound card?...I'm sure it could all be put on the main processor...since we have super fast machines now...I dont think it would impact performance too much.
