I have completed an in place upgrade from Exchange 2000 to 2003 on a Windows 2000 Server system. I have two internal systems that send e-mail notifications through Exchange via SMTP. One is running Backup software that send e-mail notifications and the other is a shipping system. These systems were able to send mails through the Exch 2000 server with no problems, but since the upgrade to Exch 2003 the notifications no longer work. Recieving and sending internet SMTP mail works fine and all of the internal Outlook clients work OK.
I am also able to telnet into the server from machines internally and generate smtp messages that are processed by the Exch server.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the Authentication or Relay setting in the SMTP Virtual Server Properties. I have the private IPs of the internal machines listed in "Relay Restrictions" in the "Only the list below" options.
Anyone have any suggestions for further troubleshooting this?
Thanks for your help.
