internal server error???

When i try to modify a record on my VFP database that is on the main server computer i sometimes get an internal server error? What is an internal server error? What causes an internal server error? How can i go about fixing an internal server error? Thank you very much for your help.

it means that there was an error server side while updating, and this error is not handled so the app crashed, so the only thing the browser nows is that there have been an "internal server error"

Check the logs of your application server to see the actually exception. Also make sure you set an error page for you jsps so the users don't see the actual error message. You could actually have the error page print the stacktrace if you wanted use it for debugging.
