I have a computer on the local network to our Domino server. I am trying to send email via SMTP from the workstation through the domino server but it will only let me send to addresses on the Domino server not external. I don't see any restrictions for this.

there should be a document with the name of your domino server. in this document there's a section router/smtp-restrictions-inbound restrictions, that's where you enable/disable relaying

Do you want to relay a message to an external address (internet)? Or just to another SMTP server on the LAN?

The first question would be, do you have a valid public IP address?

What are you trying to do? Are you using DNS or sending all mails through one relay host? Are you allowed to send email via your ISP?
