Hi All!

From a customers back-up I saw that internal number conversion was possible, due to the customer's demand to have local station numbers (extensions) in the PBX starting with zero'es (e.g.004).
The printout is as seen below.
Extension 004 would be converted to 704.
BUT what commands in the OCTEL 200 made this possible?

DEVICE DIGIT(S) DIGIT(S)
TYPE ABSORBED INSERTED
------ -------- --------
CPI INT 00 70

That's the prefix digit table. You can add to it from update the command is add pref. It then gives you the choice of 1 for cpi or 2 for mwi. You then add the absorbed digits a comma and then the inserted digits.

Hope that clears it up for you.

BTW-How's that script I sent you working?

Dear ktludwig.

I am using your script, thank you.
It works fine.
And also thank you for your help with the "add pref" command. I will try this asap.

Hello again

I found out that the "add pref" command was blocked with the OCTEL Serenade's sold by Ericsson.
But I found one "directly" sold by OCTEL and here the commands worked as it should.
Anyway, how do I de-block the use of the "add pref" command in OCTEL 200's and VMX-100's sold by Ericsson ?

.L PREF
TABLE EMPTY
.A PREF
Please enter the PREFIX type you wish to add:
1. CPI
2. MWI
(1-2, Empty line = EXIT)
ADD:

I worked directly for Octel/Lucent/Avaya. I had no idea that Ericsson blocked some of the update commands, so unfortunately I have no idea how to un-block it. Are you sure that you've got the level 3(maint) password and not the level 2(admin)?

Dear ktludwig.

I also worked for Octel/Lucent/Avaya as a part time contractor in connection with their global accounts.
If I read the Ericsson documentation it says that the prefix digits table is not applicable/not used.
I used the MAINT password to check and also the higher one... No success with that.
Anyway I only saw this problem with VMX-100 (7.1.4). In the Serenade running S.2.0.2-2 the command works as it should!

Dear ktludwig.

Using VMX-100 (7.1.4) and OCTEL 200/300 version 7.1.5, the ".A PREF" command is not in use.
Still it is possible to use .L PREF and .M PREF in the mentioned software versions.

Maybe it has something to do with the s/w licenses in @L F?

You're still working on VMX 100s? I haven't seen one of them in like 10 years.

Yes! We still service them. The oldest ones have been running fault free since 1992. Spareparts are sometimes hard to get hold of...
Do have any relations (read: former colleagues) that know of this missing command (.a pref)?

Thanks, in advance, then...

Hi Jon

The problem can be solved using the .L TRANS (.A/.M TRANS).
Got one happy customer...
