Hello,

I am trying to create an HTML newsletter to email to staff in the company every month. Its going to contain news and photos of what each department has been doing. I have made a sort of mini website with a page for each department.

I know Outlook will allow me to email a webpage, so I thought I could put the newsletter onto our web server and then email the main page to people so they could then click on it to bring up what department they wanted.

Is this the best way to do this or is there another way I can send the newletter out without having to put it on our webserver?

Thankyou!

Katherine

I would approach it in much the same way.

If you keep the newsletter on your local server, then you can keep a count of how many people have visited it (could be good for ROI if it's something you have to justify), you can modify content easily (even after the newsletter email has been sent), you save on bandwidth by not emailing everyone a full copy of the mini-site (although this isn't a big deal if it's all internal traffic).

If the recipient of the email is outside your intranet, then they won't be able to read the full newsletter... this could be a problem depending on the nature of the newsletter and the impact of not being able to access it outside of the intranet environment (most companies have to deal with this... some make VPN access to their intranet available to employees... some just let it be and wait till the employee is back within the intranet for access).

I'd go with what you have proposed (given the information you've mentioned to us).

Cheers,
Jeff
