internal modems!!!!!

I have an isa 1993 modem the chip reads (c39r/u-at c4000-37 rockwell 93 9524 a77536-3 mexico)rockwell internal modem equiped with jumpers for com port activity my os is windows 98 and i cant get these modems to work full stop. I have 8 and it seams a waste to chuck them away can anyone help. If so send me some ideas to lemon4118@hotmail.com
