I am trying to set up an internal modem (works under windows 2000). I used admintool to set the serial port to "dial-out only" with baudrate 9600. It seems like it's on port b. then I typed "tip /dev/cua/b" and got "connected" in return via console. But when I typed "ATZ" or any other command, there was no response at all... but it reads "~." to terminate the tip.

Can somebody help me? Thank you.

it's an internal modem made for windows 2000 and you've got it set as com port 2?

how many serial ports does your machine have? is the card on the compatibility list? is it a win-modem, or has it got a black box embeded on the card?

I have never really trusted internal cards, we always used External modems until we got our ADSL line.
