I recieved an "Internal MAPI Error An Invalied parameter was pass to a MAPI Function" error while moving an email from my drive to a directory on the main server from my Outlook 2010. This has only happened twice in 2 days. I looked online and all I got was messages about the same message but for Outlook 2000 and 2003. Can anybody tell me what is happening? Thanks and have a nice day.

To be clear of what we're talking about... are you talking about moving an actual "file", or an email object/record within Outlook?

And are you saying you're copying it into/out of Outlook, or what?

Please be as specific as possible.

Hi kjv1611:

That's what I get for proof reading(spell checking)my own question and not actually reading the content. I was copying the e-mail message from my Outlook to the project directory on a different drive than I would delete it from my Outlook. I hope that helps.

Okay... so you were basically exporting the Outlook message to an actual Windows folder.

Have you tried dragging it to a local drive location initially, and then to the external/shared/network location?

It has me thinking that possibly the issue is over the network. Oftentimes, you can run into issues if you're transferring from one network piece to another instead of to the local drive first and then to the 2nd network location. I'm assuming that the Outlook messages are on an Exchange Server in your scenario.

Anyway try going to your local drive first, and then to the external.

Another thing you can try is instead of clicking and dragging, go through the Import/Export process that's in Outlook. It may be it will give a little cleaner "exit" to the message object.
