internal IP from external network?

Is there a way to get my internal IP from a website (like

http://www.whatip.us

or whatever). Everytime i go to one it says 69.*.*.* but i'm trying to get it to say 192.168.*.* . Maybe this is a noob question, I apologize if so.

Nope. Private IPs will not route to the internet. The responses you get from whatip are for the proxy server you are using.

If this is a SOHO user with a cable/DLS/sat modem, or router, what's happening is you are assigned a 'non-public' or non-routable IP address assigned from that device, (using defaults). When your device, connects to the internet, it is using a NAT address (Network Address Translation). This NAT address will allow you to use your private address translated (or masked in a sense) with the public address that you have been given from your ISP. Making you able to communicate to other public ip addresses.

For that reason, you will see your PC using the 192.168.x.x address but when you hit a website, they see you as 69.x.x.x ip.

Only devices in your local subnet (AKA home network) will use your 192.168.x.x address when communicating to that PC/device.
