hey
i have just recently built a new computer and got a new hard drive. i have files i need on my old hard drive, but the drive dosen't show up in windows. i no that the reason that it dosen't show is because the hard disk is not formated. i need the files and don't want to lose them is there any way of getting them without formating the hard drive and deleting them.

A few more details may help.

How is the old drive attached in the system? If IDE, are the jumpers set correctly on it, and if present, on the other IDE device on the cable (Master on one, Slave the other or both Cable Select)?

Did you use a program called GoBack prior to installing the new drive?

it is an oldish hard drive, i have set the jumpers to slave and also have the cable conected as slave as well. i didn't use GoBack on any of the drives.
