Internal disk feature codes for p55A and p570

please tell me what is the difference between:

FC1968 73.4 GB ULTRA320 10 K rpm SCSI hot-swappable disk drive
and
FC3274 73.4 GB 10,000 RPM Ultra320 SCSI hot-swappable disk drive

or

FC1971 73.4 GB ULTRA320 15 K rpm SCSI hot-swappable disk drive
and
FC3278 73.4 GB 15,000 RPM Ultra320 SCSI hot-swappable disk drive

???

Can I mount internal disk got from p55A into p570 (of course removing the black plastic case from the disk before).

I heard this are the same drives with the only difference that the disk for p570 has removed black case.

FC starting with 19 tend to be "high volume" features and the firmware will only allow them to configure in the low end systems - because they cost less - seems to be no other difference.

Try it and see, please post the results and the lscfg -vl hdiskx for the devices from the p55a - we are looking for a "HO" here, if we see "H0" they probably won't configure in the -570.

1. Could you please tell me how to check a disk's FC code in a system?

2. I met a problem that I can't configure disk FRU #00P3072 in a p5 p570 which was bought in USA and later sent to Europe. When I attach such disk via diag and then run configure attached disk in the system an error is displayed saying that this disk is not supported on this platform. Why? I tested a few disk drives FRU #00P3072 and got the same error. Of course drives works fine on p55A.

The other p5 p570 system bought in Europe is using exactly such type of drives with FRU #00P3072!!

the system firmware level: IBM,SF240_261
system: AIX 5.2 TL8
disk model ST373207LC ROS 43373043 C70A
existing configured internal drive models in the system: IC35L073UCDY10-0
