I have a customer who want to be able to call his auto attendant, dial a code, and have it give him internal dial tone. Is this possible?

Search under DISA, all you need is to create a menu option off of the main menu, lets say "88" point that to another menu option that is PIN protected that has a touch tone of 9??????????, and 91?????????? that points to a transfer option with $KEY in it. That is for USA calling, the UK version would be similar except you have to talk in a funny accent and be drinking warm beer at the time of the call.

It opens the system up to all types of toll fraud......blah, blah, blah

Have yet to try this but would that dive you external tone from the carrier (Verizon) or internal IPO ITCM tone?

Sorry, didn't read enough. The option I gave you would not really give you dial tone as much as let you dial outbound. What are you trying to accomplish with this option?

The guy wants to be able to dial codes and such from the outside. Didn't really get into it with him. I feel the same way you do as a security risk. I think he just wants to be able to change groups settings and such. I have given him buttons on his phone but he still wants to have internal dial tone.

Then you just have to get a little tricky, if he wants to do short code type things, you just need to do the same programming as above, lets say he wants to use short code *45*305* from outside, just have a PIN protected Menu option for *45????? to transfer to $KEY

I figured that. I was hoping for an easier way, but hey, the customer is always right and usually gets what they want.

Thanks for you help kflounders

True DISA has escaped me on this system, but maybe someone has been able to emulate it by utilizing an analog station into a loopstart trunk port and having the caller dial a short code to transfer to that line/station. Could work, but I never did it.
