When using some programs in Windows 2000 the interanl speaker will beep. This is just annoying, does anyone know how to disable the internal speaker ? I looked throught the BIOS and didn't find anything. Is there a way of disabling it without unplugging it ?

-Thanks in advance

sometimes those beeps dont come from a normal speaker.. they come from the mobo speaker thats attached to the mobo...

sounds like your computer doesnt like something your program is doing...

Device Manager, System Devices, System Speaker
right-click, Disable/Enable

Also had this issue but could not get rid of beep by disabling system speaker. Had to go to Device manager - Click view and choose show hidden devices - expand non plug and play drivers - right click beep and choose disable

How about opening your box and pull the wire from the motherboard?

Just an idea I had :)

Computers are like a bag of hammers, they won't do a damn thing until you pick it up and SMASH something with it!!
