We have been on our CS1Ke 7.6 system for a little over a year now, and I occasionally get reports that internal calls will ring once or twice, and then drop. The internal party that was placing the call, has call back and then it works fine. I’ve had a few; a very few, over the last year say that the call would disappear after answering and they were talking.
We are still using M2008 and M2616 set on NT8D02 Digital Line cards. We have 1-gig connections between all of our Media Gateways, and we have the 128-DSP daughter boards on the MGC.
Has anyone had this issue or may have an idea on what may be the issue.

could be quite a few things but sounds like it it might be a DSP if the issue is between gateways. One way depending on the size of you deployment you could inform the users that if the issue occurs where the call goes through an they have no speech to hold the call up and inform you. You could then trace the phone in LD 80 and get more of an idea whats involved in the call.

The reports are between gateways. The reports are the same; the phone will ring, and then completely drop as soon as they pick up the handset to answer the call. But the very next call will complete just fine.

need to build a list of failed calls from/to then from the TN's you should be able to identify the gateway giving you the trouble.
